Census plays a typical role in counting and recording population statistics of every state in USA. Federal Enumeration of Oklahoma State was first conducted in the year 1890 and since then it has been taken every 10 years. However, the 1890 OK census records were destroyed in the 1921 warehouse fire. Fortunately, special Veterans and Widows census schedules are the only surviving records.State censuses for Oklahoma were taken in 1890 and 1907 (both incomplete).

The population of the state was 3,751,351 on April 1, 2010, which was an increase of 8.7% over the Census 2000.
